JEFF LYNNE & THE BEATLES According to the Daily Express, the surviving members of the Beatles are to release a new single compiled from archive recordings. The track called "Now And Then" is based on a John Lennon recording given to McCartney by the musician widow Yoko Ono. Jeff Lynne produced the track's original sessions: “It was one day – one afternoon, really – messing with it,” he said in 1995. “The song had a chorus but is almost totally lacking in verses. We did the backing track, a rough go that we really didn’t finish. It was sort of a bluesy sort of ballad, I suppose, in A minor. It was a very sweet song; I liked it a lot, and I wished we could have finished it”. The song will be available before next summer. Let's hope Jeff Lynne will be involved in this project !!! Jeff Lynne, qui avait produit le titre à l'origine, déclarait en 1995: "C'était un jour - un après-midi - on bricolait le morceau. La chanson avait un refrain mais pratiquement pas de couplets. Nous avions travaillé un accompagnement, un premier jet que nous n'avions pas réellement terminé. C'était une sorte de ballade bluesy, je crois, en La mineur. C'était une chanson très douce; je l'aimais beaucoup, et j'espérais que nous pourrions la finir". La sortie est prévue avant l'été prochain. Espérons que Jeff Lynne fera partie du projet !!! STRUMMING WILBURY'S !!!??? Yesterday, I listened to the "Traveling Wilburys" tribute album ,"Strumming Wilbury's" and... it's a joke! The same guy sings all the covers with an acoustic guitar. Sean Lennon, Everclear and others didn't participate to the album. It was just rumours. Anyway, the release has been delayed. No official date yet. Hier, j'ai écouté l'album hommage aux Traveling Wilburys, "Strumming Wilbury's", et... c'est bidon! C'est le même chanteur qui reprend toutes les chansons à la guitare acoustique. Sean Lennon, Everclear et les autres ne jouent pas sur l'album. C'était des rumeurs. D'autre part, la sortie de l'album a été retardée. Pas de date officielle pour l'instant. |

JEFF LYNNE & BEATLES - NOW AND THEN Paul McCartney recently declared that he would like the song "Now And Then" to be finalized. Selected for "Anthology", this song was attempted, with Jeff Lynne doing some clean up of the original John Lennon demo, and the remaining Beatles doing some basic work on the track, but the work was eventually aborted. Will McCartney leave it to Jeff Lynne to finish the job? Paul McCartney a déclaré récemment qu'il aimerait que la chanson "Now And Then" soit finalisée.
